Behaviour Support in Schools

View the 2017 Obudsman Inquiry into behaviour management in schools. This report focuses on issues concerning students with complex needs and challenging behaviour. The report discusses the difficult challenges that schools face, but also draws attention to reasonable steps that can and should be taken to meet the learning and support needs of students, within a framework of best practice and evidence-based behaviour support.

Disability Services

National Disability Insurance Scheme

From 1 July 2017, the NDIS became available state-wide for people currently receiving supports through New South Wales Government specialist disability services.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing individualised support for people with disability, their families and carers. The NDIS provides eligible people a flexible, whole-of-life approach to the support needed to pursue their goals and aspirations and participate in daily life.

The NDIS supports people with disability to build skills and capability so they can participate in the community and employment. The NDIS helps people with disability to:

  • Access mainstream services and supports
  • Access community services and supports
  • Maintain informal support arrangements
  • Receive reasonable and necessary funded supports

To find out more about NDIS and to find out if you are eligible in NSW click here:

If you do not have an NDIS package you can contact Ability Links for support with the transition.
